Some of my presents are wrapped. Some still need to be bought. I don’t know how I screwed up on the number of gifts per child. Probably because I was more disorganized and a little more lax about things this year. I bought some presents online and some in the store. I’ve been back and forth to the mall too many times in the last two days, including one trip to the Apple store to have my laptop serviced.
That was totally not in the plan.
And yet I still have to head out again early this morning.
Tommy was up vomiting all night, which is a real bummer, because today we have tickets to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concert. We go to this show every year with my husband’s mom, sister and her family. It’s a lot of fun and the Eastman Theatre is simply gorgeous.
I look forward to this concert every year and Tommy was excited to see and hear the trumpets, now that he plays. I just hope he’s feeling better and can go enjoy it. But as I said to him last night—as he was curled up like a ball on the cold bathroom floor—better to be sick now than on Christmas Eve.
I’m sure Brendan is already plotting how he will pass off a red underarmour shirt as appropriate holiday attire.
I hope you and yours have a merry and bright Christmas. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you enjoy some time off with your family.
Here’s wishing peace and joy to all.
