Dear Kristin,
I told you it was cold in Florida! Remember on our podcast when you were confusing Disneyland with Disney World? I’ll never forget the year we went to Disney World in February for the Social Media Moms Celebration and it was 40 degrees and raining the entire time.
I still have the $70 fleece I purchased in some gift shop (we didn’t rent a car that year). What’s worse, I did not bring appropriate shoes. My feet, I remember, were freezing. There’s only one shoe to wear to Disney: sneakers. And the best time to go, in my humble opinion, is early April.
It’s true, I was snowed in for a day last week, but when I boarded my flight to NYC yesterday morning, it was pouring rain and 40. (Hmm, sounds strangely similar to that February trip to Orlando!). I’m here for a few days for work and must say, I just love this city.
Not much else going on here, except that Saturday was the one year anniversary of my ski accident. When I went to the mountain to pick up Tommy from ski brigades, I thought I might feel a pang of loss. I expected to feel a bit sad that I wasn’t skiing myself. Instead, I felt nothing. Not a single bit of regret. When I told that to Mike he looked completely deflated.
“Next year you’ll be back out there with us!” he said.
Like a kid at Disney, I just let him believe.
Enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels home.
Hugs,
Erin

I have never been to New York and want to plan a trip this year. Could you email me back some advice on where to stay, things to see and would March Or April be a good time to go? I was planning a 4 day quick trip.
Thanks! And I love your podcast! So funny!
