Today started like any other day really.
Up at 4am. 6am flight to NYC. Camping out in a way too cool hotel library while I await the start of today’s launch event with other Intel Insiders. This is my second year participating in the Intel program, and like everything Intel, this space we’re in today is as amazing and cool as they are. More on all of that later.
So like every other work day, I was fretting about the effects of humidity on my blown out hair, and wading through tons of work emails noting ridiculous deadlines and a to-do list that only gets longer, when I get a random call on my cell phone from a guy named Kyle. Kyle works for a video monitoring service and he was calling to sell me a copy of the segment Manic Mommies was featured in this morning on the Today Show.
“Excuse me?” I stuttered. “We were on the Today Show? Today?”
Well, we weren’t. Not Erin and Kristin because, hello, I hope I would have known about that. But our BIG PLANS calendar was featured! Right there on the table in front of Natalie Morales. I couldn’t believe my eyes! There she was in all her glory (the calendar, I mean, not Natalie).
Our name. Our flower. Our awesome calendar that we collaborated on with Mead.
So after going all a twitter, posting the link to Facebook, and leaving a voice mail for Kristin, I calmed down and reminded myself that I am a mere mortal mom living in Rochester, NY, not some uber-hip city gal typing on her MacBook Pro from a trendy NYC loft. But it felt so good to see our calendar right there on my favorite morning show.

Awesome – congrats! Coincidentally, I received my calendar today that I won. I NEVER win anything, so that was exciting enough. But, to win something so useful and EXACTLY the type of calendar I like to use, was such a great perk. It looks awesome and I can’t wait to start using it. Congrats on your successes!
