Some of us can eat Big Macs and still look skinny (ahem, Kristin) and others of us know what we need to do to lose a little weight and yet we’re still eating cookies and drinking wine. This week we talk about the 40-year-old spread, enrolling a child in scouting, and picky eaters.

    Erin,
I almost teared up running this morning, as I listened to this week’s show. I so feel your pain, particularly in the food department. It is a battle that just when I think I’ve made some advances, I fall flat on my face. Or at least that is how I feel. And as for Christine being able to bust out a few miles without missing a beat, my three miles were rough today and almost like torture. Best to you, on the parts of life you can control and know you are supported and loved in those you cannot.

Erin and Kristin, would love, off line, at some point, to pick your brains about the issues with your boys. The school social worker in me wants to know more, but also the mother of a four year old. Let me know if I can shoot you a separate email!

    Warmly, Kristin

Kristin, You can pick our brains anytime. I have much to say on this issue, some of which I have edited for our privacy (not the we really have much of that with this podcast, but…) Email me through BigTent and we can set up a time to chat! ~Erin

I can speak from years and years of experience where scouting is concerned. I have actually called myself a scout widow as my husband was Ass’t Cubmaster and Cub Master and still is. One son moved on to Boy Scouts, I have a daughter who is a Jr and a son enter Tigers next year.

Scouting is a lot of fun, at least I think it is. I designated my hubby as the one to schlep my oldest around to go see it’s and the like and he will do the same with my youngest.

Just a warning…I dont know how it is in your neck of the woods, but out here in the midwest, us moms tend to get volunteered for various planning of big activities, whether we want to or not! >:) Course that way we know it will be done right. Most of the hubbies, mine included *sssshhhhh* couldn’t plan their way out of a paper bag! Good luck and have fun!
