Here at Manic Mommies we’re always trying to do it all and then some. But we know we’re even more helpful when we tap into the knowledge of true experts. Over the last several months we’ve been fortunate to find a few passionate Manic Mommies who wanted to get more involved with our community and our community is a better place as a result!
Thanks to the Meal Makeover Moms Liz & Janice, we’ve been able to share healthy, family friendly recipes on a regular basis. Our virtual book club—once just an idea—has totally taken off under the guidance of Mari Partyka. Manic Mommies everywhere are now participating in monthly author chats from the comfort of their own living rooms! We’re excited that Lisa Kothari of Peppers & Pollywogs is sharing terrific and affordable party ideas for kids that anyone can execute at home, and in a couple of weeks our Parenting Coach Kathy returns to tackle your latest challenges. Of course, we can’t forget our token manic daddy and pediatrician on call Dr. Rob, who we always welcome back to the microphone whenever his crazy busy schedule allows.
So we’re excited to welcome a new expert to the Manic Mommies community: Kristin Grimes. We’ll refer to her as Kristin G.
Kristin G. has spent the past year and a half training under one of the most successful coaches in the industry and has done executive and business coaching, life coaching and job coaching. During this time she discovered her real passion comes from coaching working moms, helping them get “unstuck” and realize what their true dreams are and how to make them happen. Kristin G. believes coaching is about personal and professional growth, and she sees it as her job to help people get there!
Kristin G. began her career in the financial services industry over 13 years ago. She became very successful at a Fortune 500 company and after the birth of her second child decided to make a change. She went on to work for a money management firm based out of San Francisco which allowed her to work from her home office in the suburbs of Boston. It was during that time that Kristin felt that something was missing. Her background in Psychology led her to coaching and The Coaches Training Institute.
Kristin G. lives in our town (bonus, live interviews!) and we met through a mutual friend. She’s married and has two young children and is very active in the local PTO. We’ll introduce her on a podcast later this month where she’ll answer some of your questions (feel free to leave some here in the comments). Kristin G. will also write pieces for the Manic Mommies Web site so look for her first post later this week.
We’re always looking to expand our base of experts. The pay is paltry but the benefits are great! Imagine how good you’ll feel knowing you’re helping crazy busy moms just like you. If you have any interest, send a message anytime to: comments{AT}manicmommies{DOT}com. Thanks.

And she spells her name “right!” : )
Amen to the name spelling. Welcome Kristin G.! Can’t wait to hear from you
Good job Erin and Kristen for adding a life coach to your cadre of experts. I’m sure alot of us Mom’s out there could use some of Kristen G.’s advice.
I’m intrigued by the getting “unstuck” that you mentioned above. Seems like after I had my first baby, all my interests, hobbies, passions evaporated and got replaced by the mundane day-to-day of caring for kids, housework, and running my part-time business from home. I stuck myself into a pattern that included zero “me” time. Now, after four years and two kids later, I’m slowly inching my way back into activities like painting and yoga that make me feel whole.
My question for Kristen G. is: what is the best way for Mom’s to really own a part of their life again rather than feeling beholden to our roles as wife, mother, worker, every day?
Yay Kristen! Welcome! I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you all for the warm welcome!! I look forward to being a part of such a great group of women. I also look forward to answering your questions on our first podcast!!
Kristen G. I don’t know if this will fall under your umbrella of shelter but here goes:
How is a good way to assert yourself and keep people from taking advantage of you? I am a very non-confrontational person when it comes to coworkers or someone I have to deal with on a daily basis (husband included). I tend to internalize it.
