This time last year, Erin and I were joined by several amazing volunteers who helped us put together our Bon Voyage Boxes. For months I collected goodies in my office – stashing boxes in closets and under desks. Then, after hours of organizing, box building, packing. labeling, sealing and cleaning up, I was faced with over 100 boxes, stacked up throughout my office, waiting for the US Postal Service to take them away.
It was exhausting.
Which is why this year we made a decision – we still wanted to send out gift boxes (now called “Box of Fun” – get it? Like a box of wine?). But this time, we’d outsource.
So for the last couple of months, Al from Reliable Mail in Natick has been storing the goodies, putting together the boxes and, starting tomorrow, packing, labeling and sealing. He, a man who provides mail services for a living, admitted it was the most unusual mailing project he’d ever worked on (and for some reason I get a real kick out of that).

With less than one month until the Escape to Napa, the Boxes of Fun are heading out Al’s door. Here’s what’s inside:
- 2-Year Monthly Planner – Manic Mommies
- Shopping bag, rain poncho & tire gauge – Saturn
- Wednesday Sisters (for the Book Club discussion) – Random House/Ballantine Books
- Soy Joy Bar – Soy Joy
- Shopping bag & coupon – Cabot
- Pure Cocoa Antioxidant – Pure Inventions
- Dr. Seuss or Disney Book – Early Moments
- Early Literacy Tips DVD – Parents TV (Not pictured)
- Apron – Coleman Natural
- Coupons – My Little Pakora, Care 4 Hire
- Mary Kay samples – Katherine Pena-Perilla
- Information – Winona Camps – Boys Summer Camp in Maine

But wait – there’s more! Guests during the Escape will be sampling goodies from Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Cabot and Soy Joy. Each Escapee will also be receiving a set of Joey Totes, super strong, totally convenient and eco-friendly tote bags.
A big thank you to our sponsors and supporters for their help making Escape 2009 a success! And stay tuned, we’ll be giving away Boxes of Fun to visitors who can’t make it to the Escape.

Is there going to be a Box for giveaway contest up for grabs to all the Non Escape Moms?
Nothing from Babeland this year…? hehe
Never fear Shuana – we’ll be giving away boxes to non-Escapees.
No “adult toys” this year Erica. Sorry!
Can’t wait for a non-escapee giveaway. I will probably never make it to an escape, it’s just never going to be in our budget – if it is, the whole family is going, which kind of defeats the purpose. But I would love some goodies!
Can’t wait to get my “Box of Fun!!” I’ll be lookin’ out for it!! Erin & Kristin, you are the BEST!! Great idea to outsourse this year!!
I want to win a Box of Fun! They look awesome! Nice, job, ladies (and the poor mailing guy, too)!
This is the highlight of before the Escape… almost makes me feel like a superstar at an awards show where I get swag!
So very many thanks…
