Swim Solution
It’s hazy, hot and humid here today. It’s the kind of summer day that makes me so glad I joined a local pool. We don’t have many community pools here in the Boston suburbs. In fact, most are associated with country clubs that charge exorbitant fees. Even a “social membership” is beyond my means.

So imagine my delight when a neighbor told me that a local Sheraton was selling outdoor pool memberships for the summer. It’s actually a smart business idea. Most hotel pools (outdoor ones, anyway) are deserted during the day as business travelers are in meetings. We signed up for a summer pool membership from July 4 to September 1 for $240 for the family.

The pool is open daily 10-7 and you can even order room service. Towel service and locker room facilities are also included. If you have a local hotel, give them a call. You never know what you might discover!

Bon Voyage Boxes
While Kristin’s been busy drumming up Escape 08 sponsors, I’ve been working on the gifts for our “Bon Voyage Box.” I am eying these adorable passport covers and I think we may be close to making a deal. Aren’t they so cute?

Summer Tank
I am in love with the new arrivals at J.Crew, even if I’m not in love with their price tags. This is the most adorable tank and I must have it. Here’s hoping it goes on sale before the cruise.

Marshmallows for the allergic?
Many marshmallows can’t be enjoyed by my son who’s allergic to egg whites. But these vanilla marshmallows from Trader Joe’s (gluten-free and made with gelatin and corn syrup) make better s’mores than any others I’ve ever tried. Delicious!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I love this Friday, stuff I love. I totally love the JCrew top too. And having lived overseas with my boring passport….Oh, I just cannot wait for the Escape!

I was in DSW today and saw a huge pile of passport covers in there. I was thisclose to buying one, and then remembered that I’m getting a card and not a visa book. I’m horrible when it comes to buying purse clutter.
