Giveaway: Real Simple 10th Anniversary Celebration in Chicago!

This is the ultimate giveaway package! I have to admit, I really, really wanted to keep it for myself. I’d even considered sharing it with Kristin. But instead, one lucky Manic Mommies listener and her guest is going to win an exclusive Real Simple “Time for You” luxury hotel package at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago April 9-11, 2010. This giveaway package includes coach airfare for two.

You must be able to go to Chicago on Friday, April 9. If you can’t PLEASE do not enter.

Real Simple is turning 10 — and to celebrate, Real Simple is taking over Chicago! Join Managing Editor Kristin van Ogtrop and top lifestyle personalities at the Great Hall at Union Station from 12-7pm as they mark the anniversary with a day dedicated to getting more of what you value most: time.

Then whisk away to the Trump Tower where you’ll enjoy a Spa guest room, massages, and a special welcome reception. On Saturday you’ll enjoy exclusive Real Simple classes and an afternoon on your own in the city. On Sunday enjoy a group yoga class and a late 4pm checkout!

To enter, you must be a subscriber to the Manic Mommies podcast and a fan of Real Simple magazine. We do have ways of checking this. (OK, not really, but we so want this to go to a listener and not some random fly-by-mommy blog reader). Leave a comment below telling us why you listen to Manic Mommies or read Real Simple. The contest will be open for one week. Good luck!

p.s. Erin will be in Chicago that same Friday and will meet the winners for a celebratory cocktail.

I love listening to Manic Mommies…I find myself talking back to Erin and Kristin all the time because the podcast feels like a conversation with friends. I appreciate your honesty, your banter, and your love of wine :)

I have been subscribing to Real Simple since one of my BFs got it for me as a gift a few years ago. Its a great magazine with a ton of useful information. I found MM later after I had my twins and have faithfully listened to every episode each week. You guys have a great way of making your listeners and me be able to laugh about some of the hard things about parenthood. Thank you for that!!

I love listening to Manic Mommies because I get real life advice and validation that yes somedays it’s hard to balance it all. Erin and Kristin, you are both so “real” and always so willing to share so much of yourselves. Listening to both of you has made me more open and willing to share things about myself or family I may have just kept to myself. What you have created is such a gift to all the mom’s out there thinking “I wonder if anyone else feels like this” It has given me comfort when I needed it, laughs and a new perspective!

I am also a big fan of Real Simple. From the recipes to the tips on new uses for everyday items I always learn new ways to streamline. I love technology so I really enjoy reading your blog posts too.

Thanks for everything you do. I hope you both know how much of a difference you make!

    Kristen G

I think it’s my lucky day. Happy St Patrick’s Day. Thank you for entering me in the contest. I need a getaway as short of a get a way as it would be!

I absolutely love, love, love! Manic Mommies!!! My sister got me started listening, after hearing her talk about how much she loved the podcast. I look forward to the new show every week (and I am one of the listeners who would love to see longer or more episodes). :) But I do understand how busy you are – I often wonder how you do it all as it is! I also love the recipes and other advice you’re offering. Listening to Kristin & Erin makes me feel like I’m having a conversation with my own sisters. And I love that you’re so open & honest! Most days it feels like you have to be in a competition to be perfect in everything, so it’s so nice to listen to you two “tell it like it really is”!

I also love Real Simple! Over the years, I have bought the magazine any time I felt I could splurge, and I just really splurged on a subscription! I’m so excited to be able to get it every month!!!

    Hi Erin and Kristin!

First off, I just want to say that I love love love your podcast. I just started listening about 8 months ago and I am hooked. I even ” save” your podcast for a few days so I have something to look forward to Thank you so much for making me laugh and for being a bright spot in my day!

I would love to win this trip for do many reasons… First, my fiancé and I haven’t Bern on a trip together in 6 years. How did that happen?? I am a stay at home mom of 3 1/2 year old boy/girl twins, and I am an aerobics instructor with 9 classes a week that I teach. So pretty much most of my time is spent helping other people or my kids. A weekend away to focus on myself and regroup would be awesome!

Also, we are getting ready to build a new house and some Real Simple tips and skills would be icing on the cake!

Thanks again for an awesome podcast!!

  7. Christine says:

Heard about the contest on this week’s podcast and once I get to work I’m going to pull out this month’s Real Simple to see if it’s in there! Haven’t had time to read it yet thanks to my current manic schedule. I NEED a getaway like this! Hoping I have good luck on this contest. Thanks!

  8. Kit says:

So, having just spent a week helping my in laws dismantle my husbands late grandfather’s house, I really really need a cocktail or 5 and some spa time!!! I’ve never had a massage by a professional! I think it’s time. I loved the show today ladies, the whole eight hour drive home yesterday I was wishing I had some MM’s to listen to!!

  9. Carey Nadeau says:

I love Manic Mommies. As a new mommy, it’s been such a godsend to have this virtual group of fellow mommies (and probably some daddies) to keep up with on the BigTent listserv, but the ultimate best is listening to Kristin and Erin every week. Hearing from two real moms who are doing all they can to make family and work life truly work inspires me to keep going every day. I’m dealing with a bully boss at work, a husband who cannot pick up after himself, and a one-year-old exhibiting “terrible” two-year-old tendencies, but hearing you two keeps me laughing and puts everything into perspective. Thanks for keeping it real, ladies. I can’t wait to keep listening as your lives transition together into this new arrangement! It’s always something…

    Thanks.

  10. Nicole says:

I love Manic Mommies and I love Real Simple too! Manic Mommies is my favorite thing to listen to in the car or at the gym. Thanks so much for all you guys do.

  11. Sara says:

Thanks Manic Mommies for having such awesome giveaways!! I would love to win this. Real Simple is such a great magazine and I’m constantly searching their website for new ideas. I especially love their checklists & worksheets that are available to download.

  12. Amanda Coleman says:

I have listened to Manic Mommies for a little over a year now (since I got my ipod). My co-workers are always wondering what I’m laughing about in my cube and I just pretend like I can’t hear them, but really I can :o ) I would love to win this trip because I will be a single mom the entire week prior to this trip. My boyfriend travels a lot for work and he will be flying off to Germany for a whole week! I haven’t been on a vacation since April of 2007… I think it’s about time. I’ve read Real Simple magazine every chance I get and I’m excited to see all the cool stuff they have going on. Great Job with the podcast ladies. I sure do hope it continues after Erin moves.

  13. Jess says:

Fingers crossed… Recently transitioned to SAHM of a 2 1/2 yr old and a 1 1/2 yr old. I flew helicopters in my previous life and can honestly say this is much more daunting of a task! Manic is a good title choice. Would love to put to good use a “simplifying” getaway. Nice job MM for helping with the balancing act!

  14. Linda Sauer says:

I have been taking you two on walks with me for over 4 years. I look forward to it every week. I am a stay at home mom who would love love love to get away for a couple days!!!

  15. Shannan Flaherty-Stout says:

I have listened to MM since single diget show numbers & have attended 2 escapes! I loved to listen to you so I knew u was not the only one with these struggles and you showed me it is okay to laugh at myself in my struggles. I also now listen because you are like my friends now -even though you do not really know me (but I do call in on occasion & see you at escapes!). I am also a long subscriber to RS – 6 years now??? Anyhow – would love this trip with my friend Melissa – we have wanted to do Chicago together for years! Love you both ladies! Shan

  16. Katy M says:

Hi! Whoa! Now THIS is an AMAZING giveaway! i can’t believe it!!! I love to listen to Manic Mommies while I’m doing my workouts. It’s so cool to be able to listen on my ipod.

I would also LOVE to be there for the Real Simple party! I am all over Real Simple and think they have some of the best (and most straightforward) magazines that helps us moms stay organized and on-trend.

I would love to take my best friend and have a girls weekend in Trump Tower. Could two mommies on the run ask for anything more??? :)

  17. Caron Arnold says:

I can’t wait for each new manic mommies episode to pop up on my iTunes because it makes me feel like I’m not alone in the day-to-day struggles & triumphs of motherhood!

I love real simple for the organization and product tips, but most of all, I love the photography and the layout of the magazine.

  18. Sandy M. says:

I’ve been a listener for a couple of years. I can really relate to your stories and LOVE that you make me laugh out loud on my walks. My boys are 13 and 15 now, but I teach 5 year olds, and I just love your honesty! Thanks for a great podcast!

  19. Nancy says:

I love listening to Manic Mommies – I love your honesty and your humor. And Real Simple is great; One of my favorite recipes was found in the magazine; and I’ve even gotten tips on wardrobe. With 2 kids, volunteer work and a busy job, I struggle with finding time for myself. I would LOVE to take this trip.
