I Spy on my business card

Today, over on Real Simple, I posted on the topic of business cards ( How many business cards do I need? ). In the post I showed my new business card, of which one side is displayed below:

I had a lot of fun trying to get this picture, especially the process of figuring out what I wanted to include in the picture (and not spilling anything on my laptop). For those who are interested, or like the game “I Spy” here is a list of what can be found in my card:

  • Toys – No mom can escape the toys. Included in the picture is Spider-man, Polly Pocket and a Lego police car.
  • Audio Equipment – One of our microphones and our recorder, plus my iPhone headphones.
  • Wine, Not Whine – Okay, it’s actually grape juice in the Napa 2009 wine glass given to me by our listeners.
  • The coffee is real – You can’t tell, but it’s in my Manic Mommies coffee mug (which I use everyday).
  • Facebook – Yes, I’m addicted to Facebook and my iPhone, which is why they are both displayed, together.
  • Published? – Our baby journal is in full display, but did you see the Manic Mommies cookbook?
  • The kids – Of course
  • Links – Three web sites displayed – Sundininc.com, ManicMommies.com, RealSimple.com
  • Who’s the queen? – I have the crown to prove it. Okay, a pen with a crown, but who is going to argue with me?
  • I like to ride my bicycle – And I love the necklace given to me by a fabulous listener and friend.
  • Escape!! – Pretty lanyard reminds me of happy times Escaping
  • Business cards – Oh, the irony! A picture of my work business card on my new business card!
  • Wonderful – Because my Wonder Woman boots make me feel like a superhero, even when events are conspiring to convince me otherwise.

What would you put in a photo like this?

Wait a minute is the picture of the laptop, toys, recording equipment, etc the actual image that is on the back of your card? If so, very nice :) I kept scanning the picture thinking that the back of your card was only a portion of what was in that picture. Took me a while to get that this is the actual image from the back of your card (I hope I got that right). :)

Um, is that your foot on the right side? And don’t forget the famous paper mâché Lego head!

  3. Jen D. says:

Oh, duh – your foot is IN your WW boots! Got it!

  4. Ah yes, the Lego head. It’s actually our cookie jar, but it served as the inspiration for the Lego head pinata.

And yes, that’s my leg/foot. You can imagine how precarious this whole photo shoot was…

Creative… a picture says a thousand words and then some.

Kristin, I love this idea! I just might have to do this as I’m organizing my house this week and post a photo to facebook (or maybe it can be my profile photo).

  7. At last! I have been hunting for facts on lego for some time and found it, my son is going to be ecstatic!

  8. Nswize says:

Greatcard idea. Would you mind telling me what you used as a mold for you Lego head piñata?

  9. The Lego head in the photo is actually a cookie jar. But you can see how I put together the pinata here:
