We had it all planned – Erin was coming for a visit, during which we would reconnect with old neighbors, let the boys get in some quality video game time, and, of course, record the show. But as is often the case, the best laid plans of mothers and fathers can be thrown by a combination of winter weather (forcing Erin to leave early) and cold-related laryngitis (me).

Seriously – if you think my normal verbal tics are annoying, you should hear me now. That being said, I keep asking Steve “how you doing?” and “hey baby,” because it’s sexy/funny.

Until I lose my breath to a not-so-attractive hacking fit. Merry Christmas to me.

So, with apologies, we’re taking one more week off. Consider our last podcast the “winter finale,” with our next episode coming much sooner than your favorite television show. (And, on that topic, when did the “winter finale” become a thing?)

We did at least get to see each other – which is always a happy occasion.  And as you can see from the photos below, the boys may be bigger but they are as crazy as ever.

I lost my voice last year – my family could not quit trying to get me to talk to them – especially my husband. At work everyone asked if I could share my germs with their spouses.

Dear friend, our visit was too short. But I have enjoyed binge viewing all three seasons of Downton Abbey on Amazon Prime this break so I will be ready to dish with you on the show when Season 4 premieres next week!
