This weekend I started working on the piñata for Sophie’s Phineas and Ferb-themed birthday party. As I was up to my elbows in paper mache juice, my opportunities to use the Nikon was severely limited. But I did take many photos documenting the steps in my piñata-making process and will be posting details when Perry the Platypus piñata is ready.

In the snapshot below, Perry is resting upside down while the connection between his tail and his body dries (the orange providing support).

Kind of makes it look like he’s been shot.

(As my new friend Ann Handley would say, I “Instagram-ed the sh** out of that piñata”).

    Awesome!
Really great work. Funny, I just made last week a perry the platypus cake for my son Gabriel’s birthday. They love it. Kids really appreciate it when you go the extra mile.
if you need inspiration for the cake take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/supermamassugarcreations/6936126918/in/photostream.

BTW, love your show, I have been listening to you gals for long time. You were my faithful companions while I pumped milk at the office for my son in 2006.

    Great job!

Isabel that cake is AMAZING!!! Some day I’ll have to figure out how to swap pinata services for a cake like that.

I learned an interesting lesson last time I made a piñata. It was a horse…and no one wanted to be the first one to beat the “horse” with the stick! My husband and a few other grown ups had to have the first few goes. Note to self: next time, nothing with a face ; )

Perry’s looking good- but maybe don’t make him look TOO good : 0
