Meet the Mommies!

Erin Kane
Erin is credited with starting the Manic Mommies with the insane suggestion that she and Kristin "do a podcast."

After the birth of her second son, Erin left her full-time PR job in public television to start her own publicity agency. She started working from a spare bedroom in her home before going crazy working in the same space as the dirty laundry and where the dishes sat piled in the sink. She now sublets an office space conveniently located a short drive from home and very near to her manic mommy business parter Kristin. Erin is balancing the demands of a small business while together with her very supportive husband raising her two boys ages 5 and 3. In her “spare time,” Erin reads too many magazines, avoids the gym, and watches too much bad television while trying to make Manic Mommies a resource to all crazy busy moms.

Manic Mommies' promoter and producer, Erin is responsible for working with guests, media and advertisers.

Kristin Brandt
Kristin is a full-time account executive and project supervisor with a marketing and advertising agency outside Boston where she manages client accounts and develops web sites. She is credited with coming up with the name "Manic Mommies," a term many American moms now use to describe themselves!

The mother of two small children, Kristin is active in her community where she serves the board of directors of the public library. In her “spare time” she enjoys walking, rollerblading, downhill skiing, reading and surfing the Internet.

The "computer savvy" mommy, Kristin is responsible for all things technical including recording and mixing the podcast, designing the Manic Mommies logo and web site, and teaching Erin HTML code.

Kathy Surro
Parenting Coach

An honorary “Manic Mommy,” Kathy has been a licensed family day care provider since 1989. A mother of four, her family includes husband Joe, 3 boys and one girl, ages 5 to 13. Kathy has a degree from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts specializing in Early Intervention and her practical advice for parents has made her a favorite with Manic Mommies listeners. More than anything, Kathy loves being a mom and helping other parents deal with the daily challenges and issues we all face.

Her business, Partners in Parenting, offers personal consultation, telephone and email support. Send your questions or topic suggestions for Kathy anytime!
